Work Experience 

 

BROOKLYN ARTS COUNCIL                   2017-PRESENT

Teaching artist in Creative Dance and Visual Arts & Crafts/Mixed Media and Hula Dance throughout public elementary schools in Brooklyn grades K-5.

 

 

ARTS CONNECTION       2018-PRESENT

Teaching Artist in Creative Dance and Hula Dance for elementary schools in Brooklyn and Manhattan, grades PreK-2. 

 

 

PS10 AFTERSCHOOL, BROOKLYN                    2011-present 

Teaching artist for elementary school children, ranging from grades K-5 in the art of  creative dance, and puppetmaking, as well as in Hula dance, chanting, and Hawaiian culture.

 

 

SHADOW BOX THEATRE                   2016-PRESENT

Teaching Artist in public elementary schools,  PreK-3, in various boroughs in NYC. Marina conducts movement and puppet making workshops, and parent involvement workshops.

 

 

SPORTS AND ARTS IN SCHOOLS FOUNDATION (SASF)                    2015-2016 

Dance specialist, teaching modern dance and creative dance for a middle schoolin Long Island City, Queens. There she mixed different dance forms to let students’ minds expand beyond the borders and visit other continents through movement. 

 

 

HULA DANCE INSTRUCTOR, PAN ASIAN REP THEATRE                   2014-2015

For two seasons Marina taught an adult class supported by the famous Pan Asian Repertory Theatre, the first theatre company on the East coast dedicated to telling stories of APIs (Asian/Pacific Islanders) in America.
